Installing the rear end — 3 Hrs
Straightened and reclamped main leaf spring.
Attempted to drill aftermarket spring shackles for brass twist oilers. The metal is too hard to drill.
I found a set of excellent, original rear shackles. They are period correct but not year correct. I will use them because they show way better than incorrect aftermarket shackles I was going to to use.
Reamed and honed the perches so that the shackles will fit properly.
Installed flip-top oilers.
Move the rear end into place. I will need help to line up the U-joint and transmission tail shaft.
The wheels are simply in place with no axle keys. I will be removing the rear end at least one more time in order to powder coat the frame.
